Welcome to the NAMSoc Regional Social information page. Following on from our successful event in 2011, here we are again, but this time we're bigger and better.

This is an event created exclusively for attendees of anime and manga clubs, which sets it apart from any other events or conventions.

This time around, the event will take place on Saturday 28th of January, 2012, at Fellows, Morton & Clayton in Nottingham.

If you are part of an anime or manga club local to the Midlands area, chances are your club has been invited, so please contact your club's committee for information on payment, and how to attend. If your club has not been invited, please email us at committee@namsoc.org.uk

The price is a very reasonable £5, which will get you 12 hours of entertainment. There are only 80 spaces available so register now!

If you wish to come along in cosplay, please feel free, although there is a good balcony to hang Naruto cosplayers from, so be warned, and be original!

Games

We'll be supplying a whole bunch of consoles old and new on numerous TV screens. So whether it's spamming blue shells on Mario Kart Wii or attacking the undead in Left 4 Dead, we'll have plenty to offer!

UFC (Ultimate Fail Championship)

The latest installment in NAMSoc's trademark, ultra popular reverse/loser-stays-on gaming tournament. Are you the worst gamer in the entire region? Prove to everyone that you aren't!

Participation in the tournament is by choice and is completely free, but don't miss out on some good, wholesome fun!

Pub Quiz

This is an unmissable traditional pub event with an anime and manga twist. Make sure you're ready for this, and get your otaku head on!

Anime screening

With the kind permission of Manga Entertainment, we will be screening Evangelion 2.22: You May (Not) Advance in High Definition, as well as on a huge projection screen, following the screening of the first movie at last years event.

Open mic session

Want to talk about your views on the latest anime season, or maybe you have a bone to pick with a particular show? Maybe you just want to sing and blow everyones eardrums out...well, here's your chance! More info coming soon.

Prize draw

Yes, we have prizes too! We will be giving out a free raffle ticket to everyone who attends. More details will be coming soon.

United Publications will be joining us, so bring money to exchange for pretty things. This is the perfect way to spend your Christmas money!

Provisional Timetable - All times are subject to change and flexibility.

Other events will be held during 11am to 5pm and will be announced before they're held.

United Publications will be closing BEFORE 4pm, so we advice making all of your anime/manga-related purchases before 3pm to avoid dissapointment.

25/01/2012 - New and updated timetable has been added to reflect on some of the newly announced events and screening. Any further changes will be notified.

24/01/2012 - Royal Rumble applications will end on Friday 27th January at midday to give enough time to get final preparations done. Any applications submitted afterwards may still be accepted dependant on time, although there are no guarantees.

17/01/2012 - The NamSoc Royal Rumble is now official. An updated schedule is incoming.

6/12/2011 - Social registrations are now open at £5 a head starting from today. For anyone interested, be sure to pay at one of the future NamSoc meet-ups to ensure your place. 80 spots are available and a special register will be active as of next week.

In other social-related news, we're also proud to announce that our movie screening will now feature "Evangelion 2.22: You Can (Not) Advance", courtesy of Manga Entertainment. This showing will follow-up from the previous socials screening of the first Evangelion movie, and will also be featured in High Definition displays throughout the venue. No news yet on whether it'll be featured in Dub or Sub, but rest assured we'll report it here when it's confirmed by our commitee.

12/11/2011 - The official NamSoc social page is now online. We'll be sure to update this page and let you know what's happening here when it happens. More announcements should be made during the next Tuesday meet-up.

We will be using the function room at the rear of the pub, which can be accessed using the front door, and walking through the pub, or the side door, near the small car park.

Food and drinks are on sale from the pub, but the function room is equipped with it's own private bar.

Car

For directions, use the map in the 'location' section. For parking, there are a number of options, as the event is in Nottingham town center. The closest multi story car park is located just across the road, about 100 yards away, at the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre.

Here are the prices for parking at the nearest multi story car park as of early 2011. Soon to be updated for 2012:

Train

Nottingham's main train station is literally just around the corner. When exiting the station, turn to your right, follow the road to the end, turn left, and the pub is about 50 yards away on your left.

Bus

As with cars, the nearest bus station is located at the Broadmarsh Shopping Centre.
