Welcome to the Nottingham Anime & Manga Society, Nottingham’s largest and oldest running society dedicated to all things Japanese and anime related.

Interested in anime? Love manga? Have you seen anime on TV and just want someone to talk to about it? Then come along and join us!

Based just outside the centre of Nottingham (find us here ), we hold weekly showings of all things anime, be it the latest shows straight out Japan, or old favourites dearly loved. You’ll always find someone to talk to here, be you a complete novice or a seasoned veteran of the anime world.

Formed in the year 2000, NAMSoc has steadily grown into one of the longest established anime societies in the UK, and a welcoming part of the anime community as a whole.

We’ve worked hard over the years to form bonds with all the UK’s leading anime distributors (ADV UK, MVM, Beez, Manga Entertainment, Tokyopop), ensuring we can bring our members the strongest and best anime & manga the UK industry has to offer, as well as those shows fresh out of Japan.

Also, with strong ties to all of the local anime societies and most of the UK anime scene, we work as part of the anime community to help strengthen the UK’s interest in Anime & Manga.

Organising social events, special showings, trips & conventions, plus talks & presentations from some of the UK’s leading authorities on anime, NAMSoc works tirelessly to ensure all it’s members to gain as much enjoyment as they can during their time with us, and help make their love of the medium even stronger.

 What we have to offer

• An impressive cinema style setup with digital projection, a huge 15 foot 16:9 ratio screen, and full Dolby Digital 5.1 surround sound.

• Weekly screenings of anime, featuring a social/gaming slot before hand. Also special monthly weekend screenings and special presentation events.

• Integrated network and server for media integration and network gaming.

• A huge library of Anime & Manga titles with a special loans system for all of our society members.

• Regular social events for our members, including cinema trips, bowling, airsoft days, and many, many more. We also host several special yearly events with our neighbouring anime societies.

• Long term Membership cards with special discounts from local anime suppliers.

 
When we meet and how much it costs

• Meetings held weekly on Tuesday Nights. Doors open 7pm for social time (cards, games, manga etc), and anime screenings start at 8pm. Screenings end and doors close at 10pm, with additional social time at the local pub after.

• Entry to the weekly meets costs £1.50

• Entrance to meets is open to anyone aged 16 and over. We are an independent society, and are not tied to any student bodies or organisations.
