Series 1: Death Note 4 Years, 4 Months ago Karma: 21
This thread is here for people to openly discuss the currently showing series at NAMSoc.

This thread is for Death Note

Feel free to post any wallpapers, fanart, questions and general chitchat, plus anything else you can think of for the running series here.

For those who have seen the series before, please refrain from posting spoilers until the relevant episode has been shown; we don't want to spoil it for the others now do we?

Having heard the name Death Note thrown around a lot I was very intregued to see this anime.

I've heard that the Manga is so darn gripping you'll plough through it in no time at all... its THAT good apparently.

On the neg side been told the series is far too long for the length of the original manga so I wasn't expecting much to happen during week one at namsoc.

Boy was I wrong! So much happened in those first 2 eps. I could well have imagined the content in them being spread out over many eps.

Probably a bit of character intro a bit of time wasted on figuring out the diary. A bit more agonising on if to use it. Some more time showing the main characters gradual decline into wanton killing. Hell there was enough that some writers would have made 5 eps outta those two if not more.

I loved the last bit of ep 2 - dead clever but I'm wondering how it can keep up this pace for what is it? 30 episodes or more?

I remember watching death note out of interest because it was an anime where I read the manga first and I was intersted to see it animated and it didn’t disappoint in the visual department,it looked really nice and clean and it had a good music but I felt that it was dull and it was mostly poesy and boring the second half of the series dragged on.

I feel that it got allot of its fame because its name got tossed around and then if you didn’t watch it you weren’t “into” anime I’m not saying its bad its just more shallow than I expected its just when ever people say how fantastic a anime is I tend to get more suspicious than exited so I was mentally prepared for the worse and it felt like a swift kick in the ba**s maybe a gentler kick in the ba**s then most a pretty well executed kick but in the end your still walking funny

What I've read of the Manga is absolutely awesome and the Anime seems to be off to a good start too. The characters are great and its great that they show it in a way you can sympathies with both sides of the argument.

The dynamic name writing is quite funny, he was even visibly out of breath after writing all those names down.

Great series. not that I voted for it, though I wasn't disappointed it won at all
I look forward to seeing the rest of the series!

Typical. If it wasn't for the fact I've finished my education I'd create a 'Death Note' just to see what'd happen.

But going back the anime;
I've came in a bit late to catch the first dozen(?) so I can't comment. The pacing and plotline follows the manga surprisingly close as far as I can tell, though I must admit that I'm rather bored of it, more because I know what will happen then from anythign else.
