First order of business: Horo or Holo?

If they're both pronounced the asme by the voice actor who cares?

I think the first series was off. According to our god, it's Holo.

I presume this is because of official translations in the manga or anime dubs. Japanese doesn't have a real "lo" sound does it?

Anyway, I like the slower pace and love the characters. Simple and effectively done, infrequent but enough action, and some very nice play on the thinkings of the time (the business is generally sound, the medical care isn't so much!). Also, apart from the kind-of stark naking Holo, surprisingly no fanservice. Unless you like giant wolves I guess, or nipple-less nudity of anime characters (I point this out only because so many series' that have journeys like this do a ton of fanservice. That one set in Mexico comes to mind, heh).

Well, more accurately, they can't distingish between "L" and "R" sounds (well, the ones in english,) as they aren't used in Japanese, quick linkie. But yeah, the official translation is Holo, although Horo would have been acceptable. This seems to happen a bit these days, I remember some contraversey over the translation of Gurren Lagann (Gunmen, not Gamen).

Still, mental shifts aside, it looks like season two will be as good as one.
