Part of the namsoc constitution involves promoting relations with other anime and manga groups, my friend across the pond, mihoshi suggested a skype meet and greet. If people want to go to cons abroad is there a better way of getting intel? It could be a q'n'a session for both sides. What say you?

is this a friend in Japan? Just trying to understand the proposal here. Do you mean to suggest a sort of "skype penfriend" thing through mutual friends or a sort of meet up of clubs via video conference?

Or is this simply something to do with cons? I think most of us alas struggle to find money to go to UK cons let alone overseas ones.... ((

My friend is in New Jersey un the US but she is still trying to set up an anime club at her uni but if she can't we could do this with any anime club anywhere, it shouldn't be difficult to find a group to talk to, we all must have some connections somewhere.

I think video conferecning would be best, as it is something that we can all do together whereas the penfriends could probably be done at home. We don't just have to talk about cons, we could exchange notes on how we do things, review anime, general banter and just have a laugh.

*thinks an intercontinental mexican wave via skype would be such a win*
