Personally I am not really fond of Utena. I watched couple of episodes, the beginning had some kind of intrigue, but I dropped it... basically because this kind of animation does not suit my taste and I believe I've seen enough anime to decide if I am right or wrong about one or another anime..
I really wanted to come on Tuesday when you guys started to show Desert Punk (cause I haven't seen this one) but at this moment I work part time on Tuesday evenings so it seems I'll miss it ><

Trigun has been on my to-watch list for some time but it looks quite cool
Thanks for putting one of my suggestions in the last poll A little bit disappointed that it didnt make the showing but Air does seem like it will be a really, really nice series No worries ^_^
Another suggestion!
K-ON!
Episodes-13
Genres-Comedy, Music, Slice of Life
Hirasawa Yui, a young, carefree girl entering high school, has her imagination instantly captured when she sees a poster advertising the ‘Light Music Club’. Being the carefree girl that she is, she quickly signs up. However, Yui has a problem, she is unable to play an instrument.
Along with the tasks of school and homework, Yui begins to learn the guitar with the help of the other band members, experiencing many mishaps along the way. However, with the school-festival drawing near and Yui getting stuck with her practice, will the Light Music Club be ready in time for their debut?
And maybe to finish one of the previous animes as we already watched the first 2 series...
Nodame Cantabile Finale

The series continues the relationship between two aspiring classical musicians, Megumi "Nodame" Noda and Shinichi Chiaki, as students and after graduation.

Not the greatist fan of K-on, it just doesn't seem to do anything at all, not enough funny moments to be called a comedy, no plot to speak of, just moe exploitation with the occasional attempt character development which then dissapears when all they do is eat cake and very occasionaly play music.
On the fence about suggesting Durarara, on the one hand it's a good story with plenty of twists and funny moments with the method of storytelling done similar to Baccano, but on the other hand the heavily shaded art style could put people off it since it's rather unique and without posting any spoilers I can just say that it's definately waiting around for a second series. (None announced yet but anyone who's seen it will know what I mean)

ooh, good call; that's a really good series. Ryohgo Narita has a real knack for writing diverse stories which follow several characters unique stories, and then weaves them together in some interesting ways. I was immediately sold on the character design as it was by Suzuhito Yasuda, and I really like his work.
Nice to hear about the potential for another series. I though the first series wrapped itself up quite nicely, but just checked on wiki and you're right in that it was based on the first 3 of what are currently 8 ongoing light novels. Will have to keep my eye out for a second series

I would like to suggest a couple of anime.
Seiken no Blacksmith (The Sacred Blacksmith)
Synopsis (Provided by myanimelist.net)
Once upon a time, there was a tragic war, in which the power of the devils was involved. After the war, the devils' power was banned and the world was restored to peace. Cecily Campbell is a knight, who has been looking for a blacksmith to repair her old sword given by her father. One day, she saw a man fighting with a ruffian who used the tabooed devil's power. The man defeated him with one blow of his weirdly shaped sword. The man turned out to be a blacksmith called Luke. The fateful encounter was the beginning of the adventure.
Escaflowne
Synopsis (Provided by myanimelist.net)
High school student Hitomi is transported from Earth to the magical world of Gaea, where she meets boy prince Van Fanel, and is caught up in his quest to unite the countries of Gaea against the ominous Zaibach empire. On the way, she discovers an hidden ability and strives to unravel layers of mystery surrounding Van, his past, and the giant machine known as Escaflowne.
Scrapped Princess
Synopsis (Provided by myanimelist.net)
Pacifica Casull is the most feared and hated person by the followers of the God Mauser. Known as the Scrapped Princess, she is the poison that will destroy the world. To avoid being killed by the zealots of Mauser, Pacifica and her adoptive brother and sister leave the village of Manhurin. Her brother, Shannon, is an expert with the sword while Racquel is proficient with magic. At every step of the way, however, someone is constantly trying to kill Pacifica, hoping to somehow avert the catastrophe that is supposed to befall the world on her 16th birthday.
And I would like to see Slayers Next go up for the polls, as I still believe people will enjoy that.
For details on Slayers Next, please check the first post of this thread: First Post
I don't know which ones have been shown before, but as long as I have been there, they haven't been shown, so I would not know.

I can get behind the Scrapped Princess suggestion, although I believe it has already been shown, wouldn't say it's one of my favourites but it is pretty solid and a good anime overall.
Also I hear that Samurai Champloo is having a tough time getting into the polls because Ruroni Kenshin was bad, does this mean that reccomending Martian Successor Nadesico is also pointless since Space Battleship Yamato was terrible and it was also set in space?

While I'm sure a committee member will be along shortly to give a more complete answer, I will take a stab at answering you, Iduno.
Series selection is a lengthy and much debated part of committee meetings, and we spend a lot of effort trying to get a poll balanced, not just within itself, but also with the other series on at the same time. Things get ommited from polls for any number of reasons: length, tone, the fear of unbalancing a poll by having too many similar animes, if none of us have seen it, and of course, the reception of recent animes. With respects to Champloo, if memory serves, it just didn't make the cut. There's little similarity between it and Ruroni Kenshin, so any perceived issue on Kenchin wouldn't effect Clampoo. They are two very different shows. As for Nadesico, I love it, but we have had it on before, twice. The bad reception of Yamato wouldn't have applied, as again, they are two very different shows. Also we just had a poll not too long ago with Irresponsible Captain Tyler, another space comedy, and that didn't do too well.
Er, Mr President, Madam Secretary? Does that cover it?

Yes, pretty much. Thanks!
As a more direct answer, Champloo simply hasn't been seen by enough people to get any weight behind it going in, and while those who have seen it mostly like it, it's a matter of persuading the rest of the committee that it's worth going in to a poll. Of course, we have many suggestions to sift through before our finalised poll, so even if it does get weight behind it, it may still not make the cut because others suggestions were preferred. On occasions where there are way too many suggestions that we can't make our mind up on, the easiest way we have of making the final cut, is a simple tick or cross against the names of series' on a list (where tick is one positive point, abstain from voting is a zero, and cross is one negative point).
In this specific case, more suggestions from other members wanting to see Samurai Champloo will add more weight to it, so it's less likely to get to the stage of the tick and cross vote.

Angel Beats, a very likeable 13 episode series. After seeing most of it I really enjoyed it, I think it at least deserves to be in the next s3 poll.
