Due to the showing on the 20/10/09 of the Yamato anime.

I am aware that not only myself, but many others are not pleased with the committee decision to show this anime.

Many of us found this anime to be very boring, and feel it should not be shown, and replaced with something else.

We do not want to undermine the committee decision on this, however we are asking you to review your decision on this matter, and would like you to choose another anime, instead of this.

Its not quite my cup of tea to be honest. Although it was quite an intreasting taste looking at how anime has progressed over the years its not something that I would like to sit and watch all away through, sorry.

I'm in favour of having it on at least to see how it goes, but I draw the line at taking it seriously, haha.

It is fine, for instance, to watch early films and comment on how, literally, they were filmed plays - and also, usually absolutely boring to watch. I think this series has no real depth (certainly in the characters...but we'll see), and after 2 episodes, it basically has barely got the ship off the ground. I hope the rest are not so slow!

The problem is also, like you say, the length. This is 26 episodes long, rather epic, might get boring for some. That's 12 more weeks, 3 months of watching it

We could always watch the Yamato US version - Starblazers. It has the advantage over the original Yamato of... EPIC NAMES!!!

I'm not sure if Starblazers/Yamato was the first or one of the first dubs. ...checking Wikipedia it wasn't the first, but was the first episodic, distinctly anime shown (Battle of the Planets/Gatchaman was shown the year before).
