Hi there, following Andrew's suggestion, I will now be posting feedback threads for reviews, in this case "Martian Successor Nadesico: The Prince of Darkness". Please post contructive criticisms, your own opinions, and indeed any issues raised by the anime. (I kind of expect a lot of feedback on that last one, I know not everyone thinks the same as I.)

That said, its its awful, please tell me

Well, certainly a triage of words about how bad this thing was! I've never seen the anime series itself.

All I can say is at least it was *only* a film!

I enjoy reading a negative review purely to gauge how someone reviews something; anyone can rave about how good something is, put to properly put down something as "should not have been made" and "a waste of my time, or an insult to myself and likely others" is much harder I think you pulled it off, although evidently without much plot details it is hard to gauge how bad it truly might be.

Thanks for that compliment there. I didn't really go into plot details for two reasons: 1) The plot was a right old mess and 2) it isn't the plot that made the movie so objectionable, it was the shift in focus and the ruining of several characters.

Ahh, if it requires pre-reading (or in this case, pre-watching) to even get that far, then no wonder it doesn't need a full plot synopsis!

Yeah, in addition, to add a third reason, the plot of movie amounts to at least three major plot spoilers for the TV series. I don't like giving spoilers in reviews, especially for stuff outside the scope of the review.
