Forbidden Planet has a bigger selection and their prices seem to be better by comparison. Page 45 is better when it comes to finding older and out-of-print volumes.

Due to the fact that most of its stock is American import, Page 45 tends to get manga in before Forbidden Planet. Also, I like it for the fact I can buy Sonic archives/Select books and the Cyanide and Hapiness books there. Plus there's a 10% discount all year round for students.

However, Forbidden Planet sells more than just books. I know Page 45 has a small selection of other things, but Forbidden Planet's is a lot better and more diverse. I love the Sonic section in particular. Also, the monthly manga night is worth noting, as it brings people together for fun and prizes, plus a 20% discount here too.

So for the Manga night, and the Manga night only, I'll give Forbidden Planet the edge. If it weren't for that it would've been pretty much impossible for me to choose.

you sound like the people off deadliest warrior kenny XD

Page 45 has a lot of uncommon manga that you won't find in Forbidden Planet but the selection is bigger in FP so I shop at both fairly evenly.

What I like about Forbidden Planet is that it always has a huge section of manga and it has a decent supply of merchandise for popular series such as Death Note, Naruto and Bleach. Also there is sometimes some really nice special offers and discounts and if you wanna check out American comics and merchandise there is always that option. However, the choices for artbooks are quite limited. Also there is this sense of community as they hold regular meet ups and used to be a location for the TokyoPop recons.

Page 45 also has a nice selection but in comparison has less manga. Due to the layout of the shop it feels tidier and its easier to navigate so you are always able to find what you want quickly. There is a nice selection of artbooks, whether its anime, comics and art in general, and from the times I have been there its always well stocked. It's location is very convenient as it is just off the market square so it is very easy to access.

FP is good if I know what I want but if for general browsing I also like P45 as it is more suited to my interests outside manga as I prefer artbooks and randomness to DC comics and games.
