Series 1: Gunslinger Girl season 1 & Il Teatrino 11 Months ago Karma: 1
This thread is for discussion of the series' "Gunslinger Girl" and "Gunslinger Girl: Il Teatrino".

Please post (work-safe) comments, reviews, images and general trivia. For those who have not seen the series before, please refrain from posting spoilers until the relevant episode has been shown at Namsoc; we don't want to ruin it for the others now, do we?

From just the first 2 eps, I'm finding the story is moving very slowly, and it was very repetitive. Hoping it will pick up though, the story has potential to be a good series.

Agree. Very slow starter, but I like the concept and the potential is high. Let's just hope it doesn't end-up a disappointment like Noir was.

Slow start and the repetitiveness is kinda annoying but It has alot of potential to be a good anime so hopefully it will pick up soon

Tonight's episodes were both very good. Pacing was faster, characters were more fleshed-out and action continues to have impact. Also, I really like Triela.

First response to the second half is that I don't like it.

The animation style, whlist it has made the girls look more feminine, looks like it's had less effort put into it. What the heck i'll say it, it looks more cheaply done than before. It was much more appealing to look at before.

Also, was it my akward hearing or did a lot, if not all the voice actors change?

Finally, I know this doean't affect the actual anime in the slightest, but I prefered the other opening theme too ¬_¬

...BUT it has only just started this series. I didn't like the anime originally when I started watching and warmed to it, maybe I will now too.

Apparently the second series gets better with each episode, with a much better overall story to boot.

But yeah, I noticed a lot of changes, and whilst I didn't like a lot of the ones you mentioned Kenny, I did like the quicker pacing, and the fact that Triela is getting more screen time is a definite plus for me. Also, Shotgun bayonet.

I'm very looking forward to next weeks episodes to see how this season takes shape.

As of episode 1 of season 2 I have to agree with Kenny.

I have noticed almost immediatly that the animation looked rather cheap and I perfered how the girls looked in S1. Also the opening wouldnt really do much to get me intreasted. The first op was really nice to watch but this time around was a bit of a letdown.

However, its already much more action packed which I am rather happy about. The pacing so far is much imporved. Im hoping it will improve as we get along

A good end to a decent season, albeit not as good as the first one. I'm hoping the OVA's will be decent and help provide something closer to the standalone episodes of the 1st season, but some issues aside, I thought the 2nd season was OK. It wasn't amazing, but the last few episodes were very strong, with Triela's back-story being possibly one of the best episodes in the entire series run.

And now it's over I shed a tear, though I did prefer Teatrino to the original season. The OAV's were interesting. They helped flesh out Rico and especially Jean but really didn't add much beyond that.
